High-level PPP delegation on China visit

URUMKI, China, May 21, 2017: PPP delegation led by Secretary General PPP, former Chairman Senate Syed Nayyer Hussain Bokhari called on Shokrat Zakir, Governor of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, here in Urumqi city today.

 

Shokrat Zakir welcomed PPP delegation and said, “China and Pakistan have always been close friends and ties between two are exemplary. I remember Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto paid visit to China when we were very young, he laid foundation of China-Pakistan friendship and established close ties between two countries. Generations of PPP leadership have championed hearts of leadrdip and people of China.”

 

“Xinjiang is only province of China that shares borders with Pakistan and we resolve to carry forward China-Pakistan friendship. I sincerely hope that PPP delagation’s visit be pleasant. Such visits will help to translate ideas and proposals into reality,” added Governor of Xinjiang.

 

Secretary General PPP, Syed Nayyer Hussain Bokhari thanked Governor Shorkat Zakir and said, “We appreciate warm welcome and hospitality extended to us by the government of Xinjiang and CPC. PPP is proud that our founder Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto laid foundation stone of Pakistan-China friendship and conceived idea of connectivity. Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto followed his vision and strengthened ties between two countries.”

 

“CPEC was initiated by Asif Ali Zardari, he visited China multiple times in this regard. People and Pakistan and PPP loookforward enhanced corporatatioin in trade and economic activities,” added Nayyer Bokhari.

 

Central Finance Secretary PPP,  Haider Zaman Qureshi, on behalf of PPP leadership thanked the leadership of CPC for the warm hospitality extended to PPP delegation and in particular Governor of Xinjiang province. It was proposed to further enhance economic and strategic cooperation between China and Pakistan and particularly efforts should be made to fortify Economic engagement between Xinjiang province and sindh province in the areas of agriculture, human resource skillk devopmemt for this purpose state of the art agriculture research and development facility be set up by department of agriculture of Xinjiang in province of sindh.  Moreover it was proposed that new courses of argiculture and farm management be introduced for farmers in sindh for building capacity of farmers to adopt modern farming techniques and pursue efficient ways of marketing and selling their farm produce. Mr qureshi further proposed setting up a business council between cpc and pop to develop further projects for implementation and for execution of vision of both party leadership.  It was also proposed to have sister city link between province of Xinjiang and Sindh.

 

Both the delagtions agreed to enhance areas of mutual interest, economic agreements,  trade and development. Delagtes also proposed the need to establish business council between Xinjiang and Sindh.

 

Chinese delegation included, Vice Governor of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Zhang Chunlin, Secretary-General, Xingjiang People’s government Tursunjan Ali, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group,  Xingjiang foreign affairs,  Wu Xian;  Mayor of Urmuki City,  Yilihamu Shahier and others were present.

 

Seventeen member PPP delegation includes

Finance Secretary Haider Zaman Qureshi, Senior Vice President Balochistan Mir Changez Khan Jamali, Azam Afridi, Mohammad Matloob, Jawed Shah, Qasim Navaid Qamar, Sardar Shahjehan,  Dr. Saima Khan, Malaika Raza, Aamir Fida Paracha, Ibad Naik, Agha Muhammad Majid, Syed Jarar Bokhari, Shafiq Solangi, Mazhar Barlas and Sohail Khan.

 

One week visit starting from May 20 will end on May 27 in Beijing.
