KARACHI, March 31: Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has extended felicitations to the newly-elected office-bearers of All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS) and urged them to play their role for promoting media literacy in the country.
On Thursday, the APNS elected Sarmad Ali as President, Kazi Asad Abid as Senior Vice President, Mehtab Khan as Vice President, Umer Mujib Shami as Secretary General, S.M. Munir Jilani as Joint Secretary and Waseem Ahmed as Finance Secretary of the Society for the year 2017-18.
In his felicitation message, the PPP Chairman said that being the apex body apex body of the newspaper owners of the country, APNS has the huge responsibility of advancing and encouraging healthy journalism and reporting.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that his Party would offer every kind of cooperation to the new-elected body for solution of newspapers’issues and upholding freedom of press and freedom of expression.
