KARACHI, March 15: A delegation of lawyers representing different Bar Associations of Sindh called on former President of Pakistan and PPP-P President Asif Ali Zardari to apprise him about the problems and issues faced by the legal fraternity in the province.
The delegation included Zia Lanjar President Shaheed Benazirabad Bar, Shahab Sirki, Kashif Paracha President and General Secretary of Sindh High Court Bar Association (SHCBA), Yasir Shar, Ayaz Tunio, Hameedullah Dahri, Israr Ahmed, Aijaz Ahmed Solangi, Hakim Ali Shaikh and others.
Former President heard their problems passionately and directed Sindh Chief Minister for a comprehensive package for the welfare of lawyers community including life insurance, provision of medical staff and ambulances at Bar dispensaries, additional land for lawyers cooperatives societies, conveyance facilities through Sindh Bank, library and IT facilities at Bars etc.
Asif Ali Zardari said Sindh government should also prepare a mechanism for financing the studies of lawyers who fell victim to terrorism besides provision of financial support to their widows.
He also asked the lawyer leaders to devise a strategy as to how Sindh government can help in improving the legal education to produce brilliant lawyers.
On the occasion, office-bearers of SHCBA Karachi & Hyderabad, Khairpur Bar and Shaheed Benazirabad Bar invited the former President Asif Ali Zardari to address their respective bars.
