Karachi. A delegation of representatives from different areas of Karachi called on Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Sindh chapter general Secretary Waqar Mehdi at his office at PPP Media cell.
The delegation informed the PPP GS of acute water paucity in their respective areas. They complained about deliberate patronage of water tanker mafia by the selected officers and staffers of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board for creating artificial water shortage.
they told him that the artificial water shortage has affected their domestic budget owing to which they are being compelled to spend half of their monthly income on procuring potable water from water tanker service.
They asked the PPP GS that why the water supply to residential areas is still not restored despite the fact that illegal water hydrants have been eliminated, which is a basic reason for water starvation in many parts of the city.
The PPP GS Waqar Mehdi assured the delegation that he would bring the problem in knowledge of the Sindh Chief Minister for onward actions for the resolution of the problems.
He was of the opinion that all public utilities should once for all be cleansed of the black sheep and they should serve the masses as per government’s policy.
He also said that he would seek CM’s support for bringing efficient and honest officer in the utility so as to improve the performance.
