JACOBABAD, Nov 3: Former Federal Health Minister and MNA Mir Aijaz Jakhrani and Sindh Minister for Population Minister Mir Mumtaz Khan Jakhrani hosted a Diwali Milan Dinner and Musical programme for the Hindus, Sikhs and Christians living in Jacobabad district today and pledged to follow the policy of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to protect, promote and encourage the minority communities to enjoy equal rights in Pakistan.
In upper Sindh, Jacobabad is considered as a city where a large number of people from Hindu and Sikh communities are living since centuries in a harmonious and peaceful environment.
Speaking on the occasion, Mir Aijaz Jakhrani said that we are followers of Bhuttoism which truly reflects the vision of founder of the country Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and founders of democracy Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohatrama Benazir Bhutto for an egalitarian society and equal chances for all citizens of the state to progress and prosper.
Provincial Minister Mumtaz Jakhrani assured the minorities that PPP’s Sindh government was taking every step for their betterment and Sindh is the only province in entire South Asia where minorities have been given more representation in the cabinet and local bodies than any other province in the region.
Chairman District Council Jacobabad Sardar Mohammad Panah Odho and others also spoke on the occasion while a large number of Sikh community also attended Diwali Milan Dinner and musical programme.
The Participants in the huge programme pledged to attend the public meeting to be addressed by Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari at Reharki sahib on Friday where he would also extend Diwali greetings to the Hindus from upper Sindh and South Punjab besides making some important announcements regarding current political situation.
