Karachi. 27.10.2016: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) senior leader Qamar Zaman Kaira said government has been puzzled over PTI’s sit-in in Islamabad and hence it used police and federally controlled FC against PTI workers who were inside a hall for their Youth Convention. PPP strongly condemned the use of state powers against peaceful workers. PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was holding a meeting with party leaders during which news had appeared on media regarding use of force against peaceful workers on which PPP Chairman directed the party leaders to give party version on that sad incident.
Kaira said the party had time and again warned the government to abstain from using forces against peaceful protestors or else the situation would slip out of hands and the scenes in Islamabad on Thursday night were enough to ascertain that the government had itself barricaded the capital of the country.
He was giving a news conference at PPP Media cell Sindh. He was flanked by adviser to Sindh Chief Minister Senator Saeed Ghani, PPP Sindh chapter President and senior Provincial Minister Nisar Ahmed Khohru, PPP leaders Habibuddin Junaidi, Waqar Mehdi and others. PPP Media cell member Zulfiquar Ali Kaim Khani was also present.
Kaira said that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has laid 4 points before the government and those points are very valid with regard to combating the menace of terrorism, pleading the case of Pakistan abroad amicably and efficiently and eliminating corruption. The passage of the Bill on elimination of corruption as laid in the jointly approved Bill by the opposition would help all to get rid of the menace of corruption and the situation would get normalised.
He warned the government of misuse of force against peaceful protestors and demanded for the immediate release of arrested PTI workers.
Speaking on the occasion, Nisar Ahmed Khohru said that the Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has driven him into a blind alley and has lost his wisdom so he is taking insane decisions as was witnessed in Islamabad.
On a question, Khohru said that democracy is [prevailing in Pakistan and amid this blessed era, it would be inappropriate to talk of the so-called umpire mostly used by PTI.
