KARACHI (Oct 10): Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that he has giving special attention to the development of the province, therefore constituency-wise development data is being worked out to avoid duplication of a scheme and timely completion of work.
This he said while inaugurating Information Technology Cell (ITC) here at CM House today.
Principal Secretary to CM Naveed Kamran Baloch briefing the chief minister said that the newly established ITC would work as data cell where constituency-wise record of development schemes right from their launching, release of funds, completion date, executing authority and project director would be maintained.
Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said that the maintenance of such record would be helpful to avoid duplication of schemes. The duplication of schemes particularly of schools has remained an issue; this is why the education department has declared over 2000 schools unviable.
He said it would also be easy for the government to assess requirement of scheme(s) in a particular constituency when the scheme management system is made operational. The secretary said that system was operational but final touch ups are required.
Syed Murad Ali Shah said that this is computer age and entire information should be at a distance of a single click on your mobile phone, ipad or laptop. “This is what I do,” he said and added he maintains the record of provincial budget, development portfolio, releases, utilisation and issues, if any, in his ipad. ‘Now I want it to further divide it upto constituency level so that development data of a smallest unit [constituency] could be developed,” he said and went on saying it would help government to provide similar facilities to the people of this province on the level of their constituency where they live.
Principal Secretary told the chief minister that the scheme has been completed at Rs1.6 million and it has separate server and would be accessible to concerned MPAs and officers.
The chief minister directed his principal secretary to keep record f each and every meeting he holds, and the directives he issues time to time in the cell so that they could also be followed accordingly.
