KARACHI, September 5: Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that defence of our geography, ideology and democracy remain prime priority of the nation and every Pakistani must pledge to fortify our defense and make it invincible for every kind of enemies whether outside or inside.
“This is time to salute our armed forces who are defending our geographical borders fearlessly and sacrificing their life and limbs in the war against terror. Extremism and terrorism are as much grim threats to our country as the enemies who are against our ideology,” PPP Chairman stated in his message on Defence Day of Pakistan being observed tomorrow.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari made it clear that entire Pakistani nation was working day and night to strengthen our defence through hard-work, commitment and conviction. A nation and its soldiers proud of each other for their zero compromise on defence and full of highest order of fighting spirit and bravery is today’s Pakistan, he added.
He recalled that 50,000 Pakistanis from civilians and armed forces have laid down their lives and the nation suffered a colossal economic loss of $80 billion during the war against terror. The myopic dictators and their political chickens had dragged the country to a grave position in the history, he stated adding that past needs to be made history and a new dawn must usher in where confusion has no place in our vision for a bright, peaceful, democracy and prosperous egalitarian Pakistan.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that former Prime Ministers Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto sacrificed their lives after initiating nuclear programme and missile research and development programme respectively. “Today, nuclear deterrence and an effective range of missile systems have made our defence invincible,” he added.
PPP Chairman saluted the martyred soldiers of the armed forces and added that Pakistani nation revered them as heroes for their sacrifices adding we always stand in solidarity with their families.
