Calls for global and regional cooperation to combat terrorism
Islamabad July 23, 2016: Former President Asif Ali Zardari has strongly condemned as “most barbaric” the suicide terrorist attack in Kabul Saturday resulting in the killing of dozens of innocent people and injuries to many more.
In a statement today the former President said that he was profoundly grieved and shocked over this “monstrous barbarity” for which no words are strong enough to condemn and denounce.
Afghans are a brave people and attacks like this will only strengthen their resolve to fight militancy to the finish, he said.
Terrorist attack anywhere in the region and in world highlights the need for global and regional cooperation to fight the militants, he said.
On behalf of the people and the Pakistan People’s Party I wish to extend sincere condolences to the people and government of Afghanistan and to all bereaved families, he said.
The former President also prayed for the souls of those martyred in the attack and speedy recovery to those injured.
