ISLAMABAD, July 18: Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari paid glowing tributes to Shaheed Shahnawaz Bhutto on his 31st martyrdom day anniversary being observed today by the Party and its workers.

In his message, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that Shaheed Shahnawaz Bhutto waged struggle against the ruthless dictator Zia who overthrew first democratically-elected government of Prime Minister Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, imposed martial law and subjected people of Pakistan, especially the workers of PPP to merciless atrocities including torture, imprisonments, lashes and hanging them to death.

“At his youthful age, Shaheed Shahnawaz Bhutto launched struggle for restoration of democracy and to save his father who was held hostage by the dictatorial regime. Together with his elder brother, Shaheed Shahnawaz Bhutto travelled from world capitals to capital to unleash a diplomatic pressure on the tin-pot dictator Zia,” he added.

He said that tyrannical regime’s sleuths continued hounding him where-ever he went and finally succeeded in taking his life in mysterious circumstances but failed to stop his struggle

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that sacrifices that the Bhutto family has offered for Pakistan, its people , their defence and democratic and human rights were unmatched in the history, which was the main reason that masses continue to look at Bhuttoism and Bhuttoists as their liberators from the clutches of dictators, injustices and poverty.

PPP Chairman said that Shaheed Shahnawaz Bhutto shall always remain in the memories of the Jiyalas and the people of Pakistan forever in every situation.
