KARACHI, July 4: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party paid rich tributes to Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, first directly-elected Prime Minister of Pakistan who walked to the gallows proudly instead of bowing down to a tin-pot dictator who ruined this country with dictatorship, heroine and Kalashnikov culture which bred extremism and terrorism in motherland Pakistan.
“Thirty-nine years ago, a hypocrite servant of this nation turned into an evil dictator and ruined the democratic struggle of the people of Pakistan. He laid the eggs of extremism and terrorism and today entire nation is under attack from these monsters in every nook and corner of the country,” Bilawal Bhutto Zardari stated on 5th July, the anniversary of the day when Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was ousted from power through a military coup, which changed the destiny of a nation from the sweet dreams of founders into nightmares we are still undergoing since 1977.
PPP Chairman said that we are observing Black Day today because the people of Pakistan were deprived of their genuine and patriot leadership through the power of gun-point this day and the people craving for democracy and equality were subjected to inhuman lashes, imprisonment and hangings by dictatorial regime of Zia.
From journalists to peasants, students to labour and lawyers to oppressed people everybody was up in protest against atrocities of dictator who eventually vanished into thin air by the nature’s computerized justice system. “Today, we remember all those who sacrificed their happinesses, well-being and personal lives for the cause of democracy as their leader Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto walked to the gallows with his head high and in pride only to be followed by his followers,” he added.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that PPP is heir to all the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for Pakistan, its security and democracy and entire nation inherits the glowing past of the leadership and the people of this country without accepting any propaganda against the democratic forces of our nation.
