Karachi. 23.6.2016: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) MNAs Mir Munawwar Talpur, Ejaz Hussain Jakhrani and Imran Zafar Leghari have slammed the Khyber Pakhtoonkhawa government for ear-marking 30 million for the religious seminary Madarsa-e Haqqania.
In a statement issued from PPP Media Cell, Sindh, they said that a lot of terror acts in the country are directly linked to this particular religious seminary and this has also been nominated in Fir on assassination of slain PPP chairperson Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed.
The PPP MNAs said that at one hand, the Pak Army’s officers and Jawanas are laying their lives to the defence of the country while combating the menace of terrorism while at the other, the KP government is officially financing the Taliban.
They said that the seminaries, not all, but Haqqania has always been named after terrorism in Pakistan, which should be controlled by the KP government but instead of promoting the modern educational system, it is cementing the radical thoughts that grow into extremism and terrorism later.
The KP government has ignored the tremendous sacrifice of the Pak Army troopers and the civilians while fighting against the Taliban and their sick mentality, they said, adding that the KP government should withraw the budgetary allocation for the Haqqania to the tune of Rs. 30 million and spend the sum on schools for standard modern education in the province.
