Karachi. 20.4.2016: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) MPAs Sajid Jokhio and Jawaid Nagori have expressed their profound grief over the martyrdom of 7 cops on security of volunteers of the anti-polio drive in Bangla Bazar in Orangi Town in Karachi.
In a statement issued from the PPP Media Cell Sindh, they urged upon the law enforcement agencies (LEA) to improve the coordination among the LEAs and the intelligence agencies so that such tragic incidents could be prevented in future.
They said that some parts of Orangi Town have since long been under the dominance of different extremist and terrorist organisations where the pace of the targeted operation should be accelerated.
They said that the emergence of polio cases in Pakistan especially in Karachi provides an opportunity to international media to malign Pakistan while attack on cops and their martyrdom is being taken as headlines in international media, which could be checked through consolidated efforts and flawless mechanism and extended coordination among the LEAs and the intelligence agencies.
They said the LEAs have to focus on the quicker elimination of the terrorist gangs from the port city of Karachi and the direction of the ongoing targeted operation should be reviewed and redesigned. The strongholds of the terrorist gangs in periphery of Karachi should be eliminated for which the areas under strong dominance of the terrorists should be placed under strict curfew for door to door search and arrest of the outlaws and terrorists.
They offered salutation to the martyred cops for their gallantry and prayed for the departed souls. They also prayed for the aggrieved families of the martyred cops for courage to bear the irreparable losses.
