KARACHI, April 13: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party has expressed grave concern over the indifferent and apathetic attitude of both Federal and Gilgit-Baltistan governments towards the sorry plight of torrential rains and flood victims in the northern areas.
“Politics is the second name of service but in PML-N case it seems to become completely ignorant towards the people, especially who have been completely ruined and ravaged by the rains, floods and land-slide in the far-flung areas of Gilgit-Baltistan,” Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said while talking over phone to the President PPP G-B Chapter Advocate Amjad Hussain today.
Amjad Hussain informed the Chairman that no proper help has been provided to the affected people who are facing worst shortage of food and medicines under the open sky. The population is facing tormenting situation and there was no relief and rehabilitation in the sight as the PML-N functionaries are busy in doing politics over other issues.
Within three weeks, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto drew twice the attention of both Federal and Provincial government towards the nerve-wrecking woes of citizens in Gilgit-Baltistan, FATA and parts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa but the rulers kept mum over the issue.
Bilawal Bhutto said that PML-N governments in the center as well as in the G-B have become blind, ruthless and doing nothing for the relief and rehabilitation of the affected people, which is an strongly condemnable act. He asked the government to launch adequate and full-fledged relief and rehabilitation programme in G-B otherwise PPP would react severely to its ineffectiveness and inhuman approach towards the rain and flood victims.
Chairman stressed on PPP G-B chapter to go out itself and redouble their own efforts for relief operations adding that PPP won’t sit silently while our brothers and sisters there are facing great sufferings and hardships.
