KARACHI (April 2): Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that his government doesn’t believe in victimisation. “We are political people and believe in political discourse.”

This he said while talking to a 11- member MQM delegation led by Farooq Sattar here at CM House today.

MQM leader Dr Farooq Sattar said that the Mirpurkhas and Tando Allahyar police have arrested a number of MQM workers yesterday. He added that that seemed to be political victimization.

The chief minister said that he doesn’t believe in political victimisation. “There may be some political difference between us but it doesn’t mean to victimise the opponents,” he said and added that he had given clear instructions to the police officers not to listen to his illegal instructions, if any, even of him.

He said that when he {Mustafa Kamal} went to visit Mirpurkhas he had directed the district administration to urge him and his colleagues to use descent and tender language against opponents. “The police arrested those who tried to create law and order,” he said.

The chief minister assured the delegation that he would talk to DIG Mirpurkhas to redress their genuine grievances.

Dr Farooq Sattar in a lighter mood recited a poem which could be translated as “The complaints are too much but the people at the helm of affairs are listening to them,” on this the chief minister said political grievances are very much visible from the poems of Dr Sahab {Farooq Sattar}. “We are loving people, therefore recite poems of love and affection for us,” he urged him.

The delegation comprised of Dr Farooq Sattar, Syed Sardar Ahmed, MNA Iqbal Mohammad Ali, MPA Hir Soho, Rehan Zafar, Jamal Ahmed and others.
