Former President Asif Zardari condemns hooliganism in federal capital
Warns against its repercussions
Islamabad March 27, 2016: President PPPP and former President Asif Ali Zardari has condemned the hooliganism by some elements in Islamabad
Sunday evening and warned against the far reaching repercussions of such unwarranted vandalism.
Spokesperson Senator Farhatullah Babar said that the former President was perturbed over the reports that some people chanting slogans had breached the security
cordons and converged in the red zone of the federal capital
attempting even to breach the security and sanctity of the Parliament building.
No cause is strong enough to justify such brazen attacks on the
Parliament and symbols of the state he quoted the former President as saying.
This latest assault on the Parliament building and D Chowk will achieve nothing except a pyrrhic victory, a la dharna. It will only increase the vulnerability of the elected parliament before elements who are averse to a functioning parliament and the democratic system, the former President said.
Asif Zardari hoped that sanity will prevail and the protesters will peacefully disperse. The Pakistan People’s Party cannot support such
lawlessness; it will not, he said.
