Sindh decides to check terrorists ‘infiltration’
KARACHI: Sindh Home Minsiter Sohail Anwar Siyal has disclosed that there is a high penetration of terrorists from Balochistan province in Sindh.
Accompanied with Sindh Police Inspector General Ghulam Haider Jamali along higher police officials, the home minister visited Hyderabad, Sukkur and Larkana divisions on Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, the home minister said border security force, which was merged into Sindh police, would be re-activated and deployed at Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Kamber-Shahdadkot and other districts of border areas to stop the “entry of terrorists, militants and other criminal elements from Mastung area of Balochistan”.
He said Sindh has reinforced the National Action Plan in letter and spirit, killed and apprehended terrorists, extortionists and established writ of law. Karachi operation, he said, will be continued against the criminals till elimination of last terrorist.
Home Minister Sohail Anwar Siyal applauded the role of Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif and the Sindh government for bring peace in province, particularly Karachi, adding that credit goes to both in this regard.
He disclosed that 55 seminaries (madrassas) out of 7,000 are involved in terrorism activities in province. He said that no madrassa in future could be set up without seeking NOC.
The minister said Sindh Police has decided to establish 12 model police stations and facilitation centres in the province for evolving the relation between public and police.
Sindh IGP Ghulam Haider Jamali said the police has initiated the crackdown against the dacoits and criminal elements in Sindh, and have established several check posts.
He claimed that law and order situation in Sindh is much better than before and crime rate has come down, adding that there are no highway robberies, kidnapping for ransom and other crimes.
Earlier, Home Minister Sohail Anwar Siyal presided over the high-level meeting with police officers of Larkana and Sukkur region to review the implementation of National Action Plan. Establishment DIG Sultan Khuwaja, Sukkur DIG Azhar Rashid, Larkana DIG Abdullah Shaikh and other police officer were also present.
