Karachi. 29.1.2016: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) MNAs Shah Jehan Balouch, Shagufta Jumani and Dr Shahida Rehmani while expressing serious concern over sudden power breakdown said it was a conspiracy against the elected democratic Sindh government.
In a statement issued from the PPP Media Cell sindh, the PPP MNAs said some frustrated elements in connivance with selective sections of the electronic media had launched a ‘Sewage Lid Politics’ in Karachi, which had died of its own and those frustrated elements had deliberately inserted polythene bags and sacks in sewage lines due to which the sewage lines were choked and the sewage had spilt onto the streets and in lanes.
They said the frustrated elements are constantly busy in their malicious agenda under which they want to incite the masses against their own elected government.
They said that the sudden power breakdown was another notorious scheme and even the Sindh provincial assembly was also not spared, which insulted the sanctity of the House. The entire city was sunk in darkness due to which the people of the city had suffered mentally, physically and financially.
They said the sudden power breakdown had also caused the water supply to the city suspended and that sudden power breakdown had caused a backflow, which had bursted the 72 inch water line and subsequent to that damage, the water supply to the city was suspended for next 48 hours.
They said that the PPP has time and again been warning the masses and the federal government of anti-state and anti-people policies of the Karachi Electric but the federal government and all federal institutions do not pay their attention to Karachi Electric.
The PPP MNAs appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan that he should like the former Chief Justice made score of Suo Moto notices in PPP/s previous tenures, take a Suo Moto notice on anti-state and anti-people policies of Karachi Electric before it is too late.
