Delegation of BNP ( Mengal) Led by Former MNA Abdul Rauf called on Bilawal Bhutto Zardari

KARACHI, January 5: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party said that his Party don’t want to make China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) controversial but rights of Balochistan has to be ensured in the $46 billion mega project.

He was talking to a delegation of Balochistan National Party (Mengal) led by former MNA Rauf Mengal, which called on him at Bilawal House. Others who attended the meeting include BNP(M)’s former MPAs Akbar Mengal, Akhtar Lango, Mohammad Qasim and from PPP Senator Mohammad Yousuf Baloch, Senator Sherry Rehman and Jameel Soomro.

BNP (M) delegation apprised the PPP Chairman about the reservations of people of Balochistan over China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) route changes which will benefit only a single province while Balochistan won’t get anything.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari stressed that all the stake-holders should be take into confidence adding that PPP government provided autonomy to the provinces under the 18th amendment but current government was not deciding about the distribution of resources and finances to the provinces, which is indeed a dangerous trend.

He further said that PPP being a Federal party won’t allow the important project of CPEC to go adrift or is made controversial but rights of the people of Balochistan and other all Fedrating Units has to be protected under every circumstance.

BNP (M) delegations invited the PPP Chairman to attend an All Parties Conference being organized by them under the subject of “CPEC & Gwadar: Future Prospects for Balochistan” in Islamabad on January 10, 2016.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari assured that PPP will attend the APC to express its policy on CPEC, which includes complete protection to the genuine rights of Balochistan and its people.
