KARACHI Dec, 14: The Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that his Govt was spending Rs 16 billion only to upgrade the Health facilities at Distt & Taluka Headquarters of Sindh this year. Despite that, Sindh Govt was also running the vertical Health Programmes efficiently and allocated sufficient amount in this regard. Responding the briefing to him by Federal Secretary of Health Ayoob Shaikh in a meeting at CM House today about launching Health Insurance Programe (HIP) in Sindh to provide Health Insurance facilities to more than one million poor beneficiaries below the poverty line in selective four districts of the Sindh during its 1st phase with 65% financial support by Sindh Govt, The Chief Minister Sindh constituted five members committee comprising on the Senior Sindh Minister for Finance and Planning & Development Syed Murad Ali Shah , Provincial Minister Health Jam Mehta Dahar, Chief Secretary Sindh Muhammad Siddique Memon and Provincial Secretary Health Saeed Mangnejo and Provincial Finance Secretary Sohail Rajput assigned it to go through the plan, examined and evaluate its status and feasibility & possibility of implementation. The Chief Minister Sindh said that we have been apprised about this scheme today and since and added that since this is huge project, needs huge investment to implement by Sindh Govt , The Committee to examine and evaluate this scheme and submit his report within shortest possible time. He said that Sindh Govt was already implementing different schemes for improvement of Health facilities at Grass root level and we also to consider this scheme positively in the interest of common men. The Chief Secretary Muhammad Siddique Memon, Additional Chief Secretary P&D Aijaz Ali Khan, Secretary Health Saeed Ahmed Mangnejo and Secretary Finance Sohail Rajput while participating in deliberation recommended that Federal Govt must raise its share equal to provinces of Pakistan rather than sharing only its 35% which according to them was too less. The Secretary to CM Alumuddin Bullo, DG Federal Health Department also attended the meeting.
