Islamabad, 25 November 2015: Co-Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party former President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed profound grief and sorrow over Pakistan Air Force jet crash near Mianwali on Tuesday.
PAF Squadron Leader Saqib Abbasi and Flying Officer Marium Mukhtar encountered emergency during flight and tried their best to avoid civilian casualty but unluckily their jet was crashed and they both got seriously injured and taken to hospital. Unfortunately Flying Officer Marium Mukhtar succumbed to injuries. Squadron Leader Saqib Abbasi is said to be out of danger.
In a statement Asif Ali Zardari said he was shocked and grieved over tragedy. He paid rich tribute to Flying Officer Marium Mukhtar who is the first woman pilot to die while on duty.
He prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and strength and fortitude to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss with equanimity. He also prayed for early recovery of Squadron Leader Saqib Abbasi.
