Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) MPAs Syed Sardar Shah, Sajid Jokhio and Pir Fazal Ali Shah strongly condemned the violence during polling for the first phase in eight districts of Sindh. They also expressed deep grief over casualties from armed clashes.
The Ranipur incident was part of a planned conspiracy to hinder the process of free, fair and transparent elections.
In a statement issued from the PPP Media Cell Sindh, they said that the PPP is the custodian of values and norms of the democracy and no other party is parallel to it wit respect to its struggle for the democracy and the PPP stands on top with countless sacrifices for the democracy. The PPP’s founder Chairman Zulfiquar Ali Bhutto, PPP’s slain Chairperson Benazir Bhutto and thousands of PPP workers laid their lives for the democracy in Pakistan but the party never ever thought of revenge from anyone.
While addressing Jamiat Ulema-e Islam leader Hafiz Hussain Ahmed, they said since he has seated in Jacobabad, the threats for sectarian violence have escalated to the skies and the suicide attack on Shiite mourners in Jacobabad on 9th of Moharram was in fact result of sectarian hatred.
They said the anti-PPP forces have created scenes of violence under a planned scheme to malign the PPP and provide stuff to the media for accelerating the pace of media trial but they would fail in their schemes as the masses are with the PPP and have as usual rejected the opportunists.
