PPP MPAs demand action against rapist cops in Punjab
Karachi. 15.10.2015: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) MPAs Khair Un Nisa Mughal, Nusrat Sultana and Rehana Leghari while expressing serious concern over deteriorated law and order in Punjab criticised Punjab government for failing to protect the general public especially the women, who are a constant victim of injustices and sexual harassment and gang rape.
In a statement issued from PPP Media Cell   Sindh, they said that the gang rape of a girl by cops on duty has brought a bad name to the country. In fact, Punjab has become a police state and the masses are afraid of even cops’ shadow.
The gang rape of an innocent and helpless girl by the cops on duty and in uniform and another case of rape with one and a half year old girl in Faisalabad is two sheer examples of miserable lives of the people especially the women and children in Punjab. There are many cases happening in Punjab but only a few are reported, they said.
The PPP lady lawmakers said these cases are common in Punjab but the situation is more regrettable to see the Punjab government is avoiding any action against the perpetrators. The dark side of the tale is that the Punjab Chief minister and minister for law and home are in close contact with the terrorists and banned outfits and hence they are incapable of taking any step forward for the protection of the general public in the province.
They demanded the Punjab government to take stern action against those cops, who gag raped an innocent girl, who had committed suicide after she was refused of due justice.
